yurt fever: alternative green structures

Wouldn't it be romantic to enjoy nature as close as you can be to raw wilderness and still enjoy a little luxury? Simple, protective, durable, inexpensive...ahhh the wonderous yurt---they create a minimal footprint on the land and still provide ample interior space. Colorado Yurts is a site that has many sizes at reasonable prices and also carries a selection of the only question is your desired location...

I love yurts! I once snowshoed 5 miles into the White River National Forest just west of Vail, Co. to a yurt that was sitting at 11,000 feet elevation just under the shadows of New York Mountain. It was amazing! The yurt that I stayed in had a wood stove and full working kitchen. There was room for up to 12 people to sleep comfotably. Luckily there was only 3 of us, so we had a chance to stretch out and enjoy the yurt fully. I would recommend to anyone that a yurt is the way to go if you are looking for simple, yet comfortable living. Just be sure to learn quickly how the vent hatch in the roof works. If it is not used to your advantage, it could lead to a very hot yurt!
