A friend of mine is an architect working for the famed David Hertz, creator of Syndesis--a pre-cast lightweight concrete terrazzo with up to 41% recycled content added to make it twice as strong. To make the material aesthetically unique, the company has experimented with countless added recycled materials, like tile spacers, computer parts, shells, tiny toys & ground recycled plastic. This wonderful product is manufactured in Santa Monica, California. The no emissions durable material is an alternative to nonrenewable or synthetic household building materials and is perfect for chemical sensitivities or persons with chronic respiratory ailments (due often to carpets). Syndesis can be pre cast into countertops, tiles, furniture, sinks and a variety of other products.
