I am fascinated by concrete design and especially Cheng Designs out of Berkeley, who create one of a kind countertops for kitchen and bath. They embed various items into the designs such as petrified nautilus shells, tiles and decorative metal for a very organic look. You can stain, polish, grind and form concrete which makes it a very creative medium. I like the earth tone hues that they use too. Concrete, as it is forming gives off heat and CO2, which is exactly what we do not need more of these days. But, hooray- there is an alternative! Eco Concrete has been developed, which absorbs CO2 instead of releasing it. Now we just need to utilize this new invention.
