In the spirit of re-purposing materials and transforming them into new works of functional brilliance, I am posting the "Pirate Jacket" by John Galliano. His mastery of corsetry and tailoring is evident it this piece and he graciously offers a free download of the pattern on the webpage for the Pirate Jacket (there is a wonderful gallery of submissions made by people who have tried and altered the pattern). I feel that this jacket is a wonderully inspirational piece for what can be when you creatively construct and deconstuct raw materials from unusual sources. I am not positive, but it looks to me like a repurposed British flag. Hopefully it inspires you to create more eco and repurposed fashion.
