nancy rubins

The fantastical gravity defying sculptural forms of Nancy Rubins are perfect for public domain art. Her oversized creations awe inspire with the use of mundane everyday objects reimagined in a complex aerial melange. This sculpture, "Big Pleasure Point" comprises more than sixty rowboats, kayaks, canoes, small sailboats, surfboards, wind-surf boards, jet skis, paddle boats, catamarans and other small river and ocean vessels in a cantilevered color explosion over Lincoln Center's Josie Robertson Plaza. Love it.

I would not see the objects as mundane, not everyone gets to paddle or sail. They would be a pleasure to most people. Over all the sculpture is brill :-)
