trash for teaching: non traditional materials in art education

Trash for Teaching (Gardena California) collects clean and safe cast-off materials from manufacturing processes (that would otherwise become trash) and repurposes them as educational resources. The program provides a comprehensive arts education program in local school districts and for teacher workshops and classroom instruction including the popular Treasure Truck which makes visits to schools. The unique materials encourage critical thinking and fuels the imagination by challenging children and teachers to find creative applications for non-traditional objects. The video on their site is a must see!
