barge greenhouse: hudson bay new york

The Science Barge in New York’s Hudson river produces food enough food for 25-30 people for one year, sustainably. For maximum yield of vegetables, the barge's greenhouses employ vertical farming methods. Electricity is generated on board with renewable solar and wind power, bio-diesel powers the barge and rainwater is harvested from the greenhouses’ roofs or drawn from the river. Sustainable gardening in the city!
