Ai Weiwei one of chinas most renowned contemporary artists, and a founding member of the Stars group of the 1970's. More of his works here. He is the concept behind the Chinese National Stadium at the Olympics 'The Nest' in partnership with Herzog & de Meuron.

Is this an actualisation of a poat revolution Russian drawing? I remember something very like it in red.

This looks like Vladimir Tatlin's concept for the Monument to the Third International.

It was supposed to be built around the early 1920's in Russia, and would have been around 400 metres high.

I am not a fan on Ai Weiwei, as I find most of his work to be strongly based around earlier concepts from other various artists. I believe in recycling an idea, but not to this extent.
